Role Purpose
The Production Planner is responsible for managing and developing site planning and material supply systems. The role focuses on planning and scheduling raw materials, coordinating production activities, and ensuring products are procured, manufactured, and delivered on time to meet customer requirements. It involves aligning workflows across departments and maintaining accurate production and logistics schedules.
Plan and schedule raw materials into and out of the facility.
Develop detailed production schedules and optimise capacity across the supply chain.
Analyse sales trends, prepare demand forecasts, and refine forecasting models.
Collaborate with sales and internal teams to ensure accurate, up-to-date demand data.
Lead planning meetings and address significant variances.
Coordinate production, purchasing, and logistics schedules to meet targets.
Create master production schedules aligned with customer orders and forecasts.
Monitor and adjust production plans, addressing delays and constraints.
Analyse plant capacity, processes, and resource requirements.
Manage and optimise inventory levels, reporting deviations and implementing corrective actions.
Liaise with logistics on purchasing, vendor scheduling, and inventory reporting.
Work closely with production teams to ensure site needs are met and develop contingency plans.
Track and report KPIs to support continuous improvement.
Enhance ERP systems and processes to improve material planning and communication.
Reduce raw material stockholding while maintaining service and compliance standards.
Manage stock to prevent losses and ensure finished goods remain at targeted levels.
Strong knowledge of planning, logistics, and procurement tools and processes.
Advanced Excel skills and strong data analysis capabilities.
Effective project management and process improvement experience.
Strong communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
Experience in manufacturing planning and forecasting methodologies.
Excellent supply chain understanding and commercial awareness.
Problem-solving ability, strong decision-making, and ability to work independently.
Able to perform in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with strong attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of improving ERP functionality.
