Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced EHS Manager with a strong background in managing environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs, particularly in environments with industrial machinery. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, enhancing safety culture, and promoting sustainability practices across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of implementing effective EHS initiatives and a deep understanding of the risks and challenges associated with industrial machinery and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
EHS Leadership:
- Develop, implement, and manage EHS policies, programs, and systems to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through training, awareness campaigns, and leadership engagement.
- Provide expert guidance and support to management and staff on EHS matters.
Risk Assessment and Compliance:
- Conduct risk assessments, particularly focused on industrial machinery, to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Prepare for and manage internal and external EHS audits.
Incident Management and Investigation:
- Lead investigations into EHS incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Industrial Machinery Safety:
- Develop and enforce safety protocols for operating, maintaining, and interacting with industrial machinery.
- Ensure machine safeguarding and adherence to industry best practices for machinery-related safety.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to improve the safety of machinery and associated processes.
Sustainability and Environmental Management:
- Lead waste management, emissions reduction, and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Drive sustainability projects and align them with organizational goals.
Training and Development:
- Design and deliver training programs on EHS topics, including machinery safety, chemical handling, and emergency response.
- Foster employee engagement in EHS initiatives and ensure comprehensive understanding at all organizational levels.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop, implement, and test emergency response plans.
- Coordinate drills and ensure readiness for fire, chemical, or machinery-related emergencies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in an EHS role within a manufacturing or industrial environment, with significant exposure to industrial machinery.
- Certifications: NEBOSH Diploma, OSHA Certification, or equivalent qualifications are essential.
