Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a dynamic team in Cork.
This position is ideal for a skilled professional eager to advance their career while maintaining and optimising mechanical systems crucial to production and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance on mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, boilers, HVAC systems, and utilities.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical issues to minimise downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability and regulatory compliance.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications alongside engineering and production teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and performance reports.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members as required.
- Be open to training and certification opportunities to further enhance your skill set.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A technical degree, diploma, or Solas Advanced Craft Certification (Level 6) or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience in a mechanical maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial setting-experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency with mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, valves, and piping systems.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems using hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and the ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong computer literacy and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to accurate record-keeping.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends or off-hours and willingness to transition to shift work if required in the future.
