Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, the Supply Chain Specialist will play a critical role in supporting various supply chain operations for a leading pharmaceutical company in Cork on a 12-month fixed-term contract and an attractive hybrid model (2 days onsite 3 days remote)
This role is essential for managing daily operations, resolving supply-related issues, and closely partnering with Corporate and Regional Supply Chain teams. This position's contributions directly impact the efficiency and quality of supply management, helping drive the company's success.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Inventory Optimization: Ensure inventory is efficiently managed to reduce working capital, while maintaining high customer service standards.
- New Product Integration: Manage and oversee the smooth introduction of new products into the supply chain.
- Supply Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and address supply chain challenges, continuously improving systems in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Vendor Management: Maintain and develop a high-quality vendor base to support operational needs, and evaluate vendor performance through established metrics.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all Transport and Customs Regulations.
- Supply Chain Security: Contribute to strategies aimed at safeguarding the supply chain and preventing counterfeiting.
- Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP): Lead monthly S&OP reviews to support demand and supply alignment.
- Support Supply Chain Strategy: Actively contribute to and align with the overall supply chain strategy.
- Compliance: Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, safety rules, and regulatory requirements.
Experience & Educational Requirements:
- 2 years + of relevant and progressively responsible experience in a supply chain environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, Accountancy, Sales, Marketing, Computer Sciences, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (in-depth knowledge preferred), along with strong skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook to operate efficiently within company systems.
