We are looking for an ambitious professional with at least 5 years of relevant experience in data protection and compliance to join a fantastic state body in Dublin!
You will play a pivotal role within the Compliance Unit, handling data protection and general compliance matters. This fixed-term role involves advising on statutory, governance, and compliance obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Protection: Support data protection oversight, including handling data breaches, subject rights requests, impact assessments, and governance reporting. Manage the OneTrust relationship and contribute to the annual compliance and data protection plan.
- General Compliance: Assist in drafting compliance procedures and policies, managing attestation and submission exercises, reviewing regulatory updates, and supporting Affiliate Agencies. Oversee compliance mailboxes, training, and communication efforts.
Knowledge & Experience
- At least 5 years' experience in data protection and compliance, ideally in financial or public sectors.
- Holds a relevant third-level or professional qualification.
- Ability to identify and address data protection and compliance risks, particularly by challenging first-line controls.
- Strong knowledge of Irish/EU data protection laws and compliance risks.
- Familiarity with OneTrust and public sector compliance considerations is an asset.
- Proficiency with MS Office, MS Teams, and project management tools.
Skills
- Team-oriented, proactive, and highly organized.
- Strong communication, analytical, and report-writing skills.
- Capable of building relationships and working independently in a dynamic setting.
