Morgan McKinley are partnering with a Fantastic Public Sector Client to recruit a Product Safety Analyst!
As a Product Safety Analyst reporting to the Product Safety Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring product compliance, enforcing standards, and promoting safety in line with regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Compliance Investigation: Oversee and manage multiple compliance cases, working with economic operators to identify and address actual or potential regulatory breaches, including taking enforcement action as needed.
- Market Surveillance: Conduct compliance assessments on eCommerce platforms, focusing on the RED (Radio Equipment Directive) and EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) regulations.
- Authorised Officer Activities: Perform market surveillance on products imported or sold domestically to assess regulatory compliance with RED and EMC.
- Border Control: Coordinate with state authorities (e.g. Revenue Customs) to monitor and control the entry of relevant products.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including national and international Market Surveillance Authorities and the EU Commission.
- Process Development: Create and implement risk-based processes for consistent, effective market surveillance and compliance.
- Product Evaluation: Conduct or oversee evaluations of radio, electrical, and electronic products against RED and EMC standards.
- EC Notification Systems Management: Manage systems like ICSMS and RAPEX for EU-wide compliance information sharing and represent the organization in relevant national and international meetings.
- Resource Management: Supervise external consultants and resources to ensure project delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in technology, engineering, physics, or a related field.
- Proven success in project management within a multi-disciplinary environment, including scope and delivery management.
- Experience in coordinating external advisors and resources for timely, cost-effective project execution.
- Strong analytical skills to quickly understand complex briefs, synthesize information, and make evidence-based decisions.
- Full driving license.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of telecommunications, radio communication systems, and radio frequency propagation.
- Familiarity with national and EU regulatory frameworks and experience in applying EU directives and regulations.
- Experience in risk management and risk-based compliance and enforcement.
- Strong document drafting skills.
- Project management certification or experience.
This role may involve national and international travel, and candidates should be open to flexible working hours.
