Morgan McKinley are excited to be partnering with a Public Sector Client on a Project specialist contract role across the deployment of district heating within the energy/utilities sector.
Location: Dublin, Dundalk, Cork or Sligo (office locations in all 4)
Hybrid working: 2 days onsite + 3 WFH
Contract: 18 months
The role works across 2 key elements:
- Providing expert advice and guidance to project sponsors on implementing district heating schemes.
- Supporting a coordinated national strategy for long-term district heating deployment.
Essential Requirements
To be considered successful, candidates must demonstrate the following:
- A degree (Level 7 on the NFQ) or an equivalent qualification in Engineering, Science, Business, or Economics.
- At least 4 years of experience in this or a related field, or in a comparable role.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including proficiency in report writing, delivering presentations, public speaking, and simplifying complex concepts for non-technical audiences.
- A strong attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent teamwork skills and a flexible approach to collaboration.
Desirable Requirements
- Knowledge of the energy sector, particularly in energy efficiency and renewable energy in business and industry, would be a distinct advantage.
- Knowledge of strategically important subject matter areas required for decarbonised heat policy needs.
- Experience and expertise in district heating development.
- Commercial management expertise in district heating with knowledge of business model development, procurement, negotiation, risk management, governance, contract management
- Experience in delivering grant programmes.
- A qualification in project management.
- Knowledge/ Experience of working in the Public Sector.
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team and managing projects involving a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
