About the role
As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a vital role in overseeing software software asset management, usage optimization, and vendor management. The successful candidate will analyse software utilization, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance cost efficiency. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies specifically for software asset management, focusing on Oracle and Microsoft licenses.
- Conduct thorough analyses of current software usage to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize licensing agreements.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for software purchases, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract renewal.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to assess software requirements and ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
- Monitor and report on software asset performance and utilization to drive strategic decision-making.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of software licenses and ensure timely renewals to avoid compliance issues.
- Evaluate supplier performance regularly and negotiate terms to achieve cost efficiencies.
- Stay updated on market trends and pricing models for Oracle and Microsoft products to inform procurement strategies.
- Prepare reports and presentations for management on procurement activities, cost savings, and software asset management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on software asset management and licensing, particularly for Oracle and Microsoft.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and cost optimization.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
