Morgan McKinley is delighted to bring to market this new opportunity for an experienced accountant to join the group finance function of a well-established construction and property development company. In this Group Accountant role, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial and administrative requirements of the company's growing portfolio. Working across multiple legal entities, you will be responsible for preparing consolidated accounts, supporting strategic decision-making with financial analysis, and contributing to the company's ongoing expansion.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and consolidated accounts for multiple legal entities, including property and construction companies.
- Assist in preparing monthly board packs and reporting packs for senior management.
- Oversee the administration functions, accounts payable, payroll, and statutory reporting, ensuring compliance with group policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support cash flow and working capital management.
- Contribute to the group's banking, treasury, and taxation activities, ensuring effective financial management and compliance.
- Support year-end and internal audit processes.
- Provide financial analysis to support decision-making and day-to-day commercial activities.
- Act as a business partner to support operational and strategic goals.
- Lead the procurement and implementation of an ERP system in collaboration with Group IT and finance teams.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Job Requirements
- Qualified accountant with 3 years post qualified experience, ideally working in industry.
- Strong technical skills with experience in financial reporting and management.
- Experience managing cash flow and working capital, including work-in-progress, stock, and creditors/debtors' management.
- Proven success in managing finance or administration functions.
- Experience with implementing or upgrading ERP/financial systems is desirable.
- Strong commercial acumen and a track record of providing business partnership support.
- Problem-solving mindset with a demonstrated ability to deliver results in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
