The Middle Office Operations Lead oversees multi-asset financial products, ensuring efficient trade support, risk management, and regulatory compliance while leading multiple functional teams and driving process improvements.
Roles/Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple middle office teams supporting Cash Equity, Stock Loan, Listed Derivatives, Fixed Income, Responsible for overseeing middle office functions across multiple financial products, managing teams, and ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and risk management. Collateral Management, Investment Trust, and OTC Derivatives.
- Ensure adequate coverage, backup, and control across all financial products and processes.
- Identify potential issues, implement robust processes, and oversee compliance with regulatory changes.
- Provide strategic guidance, coaching, and mentoring to managers and staff.
- Collaborate with IT teams to enhance and implement systems to meet business, regulatory, and operational requirements.
- Develop strong working relationships with Front Office, Compliance, Legal, and Finance.
- Oversee offshoring functions to maintain service quality and issue resolution.
- Facilitate new business enablement by working with front office teams and clients to assess feasibility and required process enhancements.
Required skills
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the financial industry.
- Proven experience in team and people management.
- Professional communication skills in English and Japanese.
Preferred skills
- JSDA Chief Control Manager qualification.
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, and basic formulas).
- Experience in process improvement and change management.
