A leading global corporate and investment bank is seeking a Director-level Aviation Finance professional to join its Aviation & Structured Finance Department in Tokyo. In this role, you will lead the origination and execution of high-profile JOL/JOLCO transactions, managing key client relationships and working closely with the global aviation finance team. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the origination and execution of Japanese Operating Lease (JOL) and Japanese Operating Lease with Call Option (JOLCO) loans, focusing on aircraft, ships, and other transportation assets.
- Manage the Aviation & Structured Finance team in Tokyo, reporting to regional and global management.
- Source and finalize aviation financing transactions, maintaining strong client relationships and engaging in business travel as needed.
- Oversee debt structuring, syndication processes, and loan portfolio management.
- Collaborate with global aviation finance teams to ensure smooth deal origination and execution.
- Ensure compliance with local and global regulatory standards, adhering to internal banking policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Extensive experience in JOL/JOLCO loan origination and execution.
- Experience in JOLCO equity underwriting is a plus.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of internal banking processes, including credit applications, KYC procedures, and regulatory compliance.
Soft Skills:
- Proven leadership skills to manage teams and drive complex transactions.
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Native (required for client interactions and negotiations).
- English: Fluent (for global collaboration and transaction management).
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Established network within the JOL/JOLCO industry.
- Comprehensive understanding of banking operations, financing structures, and compliance requirements.
