Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Compile and submit comprehensive financial reports, including those related to Corporate Banking, to the Head Office. Ensure all reports comply with Group policies and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and file regulatory reports, including Private Banking returns, to meet all statutory and regulatory requirements on time.
- Management Information Systems (MIS): Develop and deliver MIS reports to local management and business unit heads to support effective performance tracking and decision-making.
- Accounting Entries: Manage and post accounting entries, adjustments, and maintain precise accounting records.
- Reconciliation: Collaborate with relevant departments to resolve discrepancies in the general ledger and ensure accurate maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
- Bank Reconciliation: Conduct daily reconciliations of nostro balances with the general ledger, ensuring all fund transfers are accurately recorded and discrepancies addressed promptly.
- Payment Processing: Execute payment transactions for staff and suppliers, adhering to the Operating Expenses Approval Guidelines to ensure timely and authorized payments.
- ALCO Meetings: Prepare materials and coordinate monthly ALCO meetings to enhance their effectiveness and efficiency.
- System Testing: Support user acceptance testing for new system implementations and enhancements.
- Policy Development: Assist in the creation and maintenance of financial management policies and manuals.
- Cross-Functional Support: Provide backup for colleagues within the department as directed by the Head of Financial Management Department (FMD) to ensure continuity during staff absences.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Proficiency in financial management systems and reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across departments.
- Experience in policy development and system testing is a plus.
