We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper to join a close-knit finance team based in East Cork.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process invoices accurately and efficiently, including matching to purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Reconcile supplier statements to ensure accuracy of accounts.
- Prepare and process payment runs (BACS, cheque, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Allocate payments to supplier accounts.
- Handle supplier queries and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of VAT returns.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of cash balances.
- Month-End Reporting including preparing accruals and reconciliations, G/L account reconciliation.
- Processing of payroll, including data entry, calculating deductions, and resolving payroll queries.
- Provide occasional support to the accounts receivable function
- Work closely with internal departments (e.g., purchasing, operations) and external stakeholders (e.g., suppliers) to ensure efficient processes and resolve any issues.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience within a similar role is essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
