Job Title: Civils Supervisor
Location: Cork (projects across Cork City & County)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are seeking an experienced Civils Supervisor to oversee and manage day-to-day civil engineering works on sites across Cork. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising site crews, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with drawings, specifications, and Irish regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all on-site civil works including groundworks, drainage, concrete, utilities, and roadworks
- Manage direct labour, subcontractors, and plant on site
- Ensure works are carried out in compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company procedures, and site-specific RAMS
- Conduct daily site briefings, toolbox talks, and safety inspections
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and method statements
- Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, Clients, and Local Authorities
- Plan and sequence works to meet programme targets
- Monitor quality of workmanship and ensure compliance with standards
- Maintain accurate site records, diaries, and progress reports
- Identify and resolve site issues proactively
- Assist with ordering materials and managing deliveries
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a supervisory role within civil engineering or construction
- Strong knowledge of Irish construction practices and regulations
- Proven experience managing crews and subcontractors
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
