Materials Program Manager
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Materials Program Manager to take responsibility for the management and procurement of materials from our approved contract manufacturing partners. This is a pivotal role that ensures supply chain efficiency, vendor performance, and delivery accuracy to meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Issue monthly forecasts, including End-of-Life and Not-In-New-Approach products, and manage execution with contract manufacturers in a timely manner.
Schedule material requirements with contract manufacturers to align with demand.
Oversee the timely execution of material expedite requests with contract manufacturing partners.
Maintain supplier commitment accuracy within the enterprise resource planning system.
Provide reliable and achievable delivery schedules to customers and ensure these commitments are met.
Participate in quarterly business reviews to assess quality, delivery, and cost performance of suppliers.
Report quarterly on contract manufacturer excess and obsolete inventory.
Conduct weekly analysis of shipment dates versus customer requested dates to assess service performance.
Manage several key performance indicators, including:
Invoice issue log
Receiving issues log
Material review board activity
Tracking of engineering change orders and product change orders issued to contract manufacturers
Accounts payable and accounts receivable activities with contract manufacturers
Sale of inventory tracking
Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum of three to five years of experience in a similar materials or supply chain role.
Proven ability to analyze and interpret complex data to support decision-making.
Experience managing supplier relationships to meet dynamic requirements.
Strong ability to drive scheduling changes and influence supply chain activities.
Knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems (SAP experience is advantageous).
Ability to interpret engineering change orders, bills of materials, and process flows.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Strong data entry and analysis capabilities.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Able to work effectively both independently and within a team-based environment.
