    A client in Cork is looking for an experienced Process Engineer to join their team on a 12-month hourly rate contract.

    This role involves working on multiple projects, particularly focusing on large-scale automation systems used for device assembly and testing. The successful candidate will contribute to process and equipment development from initial concept to full-scale production.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design and implement high-capability, high-yield manufacturing processes.
    • Enhance process equipment and technology performance to facilitate seamless transfer of efficient and repeatable manufacturing processes.
    • Partner with R&D teams to support new medical device development and ensure smooth transition from design validation to production.
    • Collaborate with vendors on equipment design and development, overseeing projects from initial planning to onsite integration.
    • Modify and refine existing automation systems to support New Product Introductions (NPIs) and improve manufacturing efficiency.
    • Develop and maintain technical documentation, covering both preliminary and full-scale manufacturing processes.
    • Lead and execute validation and qualification activities for processes and equipment.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, quality, and reliability.
    • Engage with various departments to support ongoing process optimization and future development needs.
    • Develop and expand expertise within the Cork site, contributing to best practices and innovation.
    • Oversee the commissioning of microcatheter manufacturing technology, production scale-up, process validation, and continuous improvement efforts.
    • Assess the environmental impact of new processes, equipment, and materials in collaboration with EHS teams to mitigate risks.

    Required Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree (Level 8) in Engineering or Science (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronic, Production, or related field).
    • 3+ years of relevant experience in medical device manufacturing.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to identify and implement process improvements.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
    • Experience in at least one of the following areas:Injection Molding
    • Process Development & Characterization
    • Process Troubleshooting & Optimization
    • Process Validation
    • DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control)
    • Equipment Validation
    • New Product Introduction (NPI)
