Assistant Accountant - Fixed-Term Contract (12-14 Months)
A leading organisation within the logistics sector is looking for an Assistant Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, ownership, and working in a fast-paced environment where no two days look the same. You'll be joining a collaborative finance team and supporting a wide range of accounting and reporting activities across the business.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processing of purchasing orders
- Processing of overhead invoices
- Responsible for investigation and resolution of all OH queries (full detailed understanding of OHs)
- Systematically review OH vendors to price deduction opportunities
- Detailed knowledge of cost centre & how the effects P&L by product (allocation basis)
- Have a full control and understanding of fixed assets - full control & understanding of processes (asset count done within 3 months start to finish & reconciliation)
- Supplier reconciliation
- Supplier setup
- Full understanding & implementation of Company policies relating to your role
- Various statutory returns VIES, VAT, 46G etc
Additional Responsibilities:
- Month-end reporting including:
- Overall responsibility for overhead processing, reporting and reviewing
- Assume responsibility for accruals and prepaids processing, reporting and review
- Revenue, cost and gross profit: reconcile and review for various products (have a full understanding of various related systems)
- Various additional responsivities as required
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages
- Previous accounting experience
- Experience working in a similar industry desirable
- Self-motived, with the ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage and prioritise own daily workload
- Deadline and results focused
- Flexible and adaptable
