Morgan McKinley is exclusively partnering with a key client, a rapidly growing 3PL logistics provider based in North West Dublin, to recruit an Assistant Operations Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on and ambitious operations professional to join a scaling business at a pivotal stage of growth. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting day-to-day operations while helping to build structure, capability, and team performance as the business expands.
You will be equally comfortable operating on the warehouse floor and leading teams, ensuring service excellence and operational efficiency across all activities.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Support the daily running of warehouse operations including inbound, storage, picking, and dispatch
- Ensure all customer SLAs and KPIs are consistently achieved
- Monitor and manage labour utilisation, productivity, and workflow efficiency
- Proactively identify and resolve operational challenges in real time
- Maintain strong inventory control and stock accuracy
People Leadership
- Supervise, coach, and develop warehouse teams and team leads
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training as the operation scales
- Drive a high-performance, accountable, and engaged team culture
- Manage performance, attendance, and employee relations matters
Process Improvement & Scaling
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Support the development and rollout of SOPs and best practices
- Contribute to growth initiatives including new client onboarding and operational expansion
Health & Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to all health & safety regulations and company policies
- Promote a strong safety-first culture across the site
- Support internal and external audits
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers
- Support the delivery of high service levels and strong client relationships
Key Requirements
- 3-5+ years' experience in logistics, warehousing, or 3PL environments
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong hands-on approach with the ability to lead from the front
- Experience in fast-paced, high-volume operations
- Solid understanding of warehouse KPIs and operational performance metrics
- Excellent communication and people management skills
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a scaling or changing environment
- Strong problem-solving capability with a proactive mindset
Desirable
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Exposure to Lean or continuous improvement methodologies
- Health & Safety certification
