An exciting opportunity awaits with a privately-owned, mid-sized Irish business in the logistics sector. Currently in a growth phase, the company is seeking to appoint a Financial Controller to a newly created position. Based in the Dublin office, the Financial Controller will lead the development and management of all financial and accounting functions across the Group.
Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for all Finance matters
- Monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Monthly sales reporting, weekly forecasts and annual budgets
- Provision of detailed performance analysis against plan, explaining variances across the various departments
- Point of contact for the auditors
- Preparation and filling of all Taxes (VAT, CT, VAT, etc)
- Point of contact for the IT, Insurance, Property & Pension providers
- Continuous development and improvement of financial controls and office financial procedures to enhance the business and improve efficiencies
- Management of a Team of 8 finance staff
- Treasury, cash management and Cost control
- Capital Expenditure and funding
Education & Skills:
- Qualified accountant - member of recognised accountancy body
- Minimum 6 years post-qualification experience in a supervisory role. Logistics experience an advantage but not essential
- Financial skills and proven competence in financial management and accounting is essential
- Experience developing relationships with senior internal stakeholders to understand their requirements.
- Strong management skills including experience in managing people
- An understanding of international trade, including the customs aspects, would be desirable but not essential
- Previous experience identifying & implementing process improvements
