Exciting opportunity for a Project Accountant to join our client in the public sector/transport services on a full-time, 12-month Fixed-Term Contract based in Dublin City Centre. This role has the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The ideal candidate will be fully qualified, with project experience, and a driven, motivated individual.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this role will support the organisation's financial control requirements, including project budget management, periodic reporting, financial planning, forecasting, and project controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance internal financial controls within the business unit.
- Identify and document process improvements to strengthen financial controls.
- Assist in budget planning, forecasting, and five-year strategic financial planning.
- Conduct periodic accrual assessments and reporting.
- Prepare and deliver regular financial reports, including detailed variance analysis and commentary.
- Develop variance analysis insights to support decision-making.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting aligned with the agreed schedule.
- Monitor and report on third-party performance metrics.
- Support internal and external audit processes by ensuring compliance with financial procedures.
Key Requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant with a minimum of three years of post-qualification experience.
- Proven expertise in project accounting, particularly within infrastructure projects.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel.
- Strong analytical abilities, with a keen eye for financial trends and insights.
