A leading Legal firm in Dublin City Centre is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts & Payroll Assistant to join its finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong financial acumen who is looking to advance their career in a dynamic and professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary finance contact for all queries related to transactions recorded on the practice management system, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution of issues.
- Manage and process payroll for approximately 100 Irish staff monthly, including salary calculations, tax deductions, pension contributions, and compliance with payroll regulations.
- Ensure payroll accuracy by coordinating with HR, handling employee queries, managing payroll adjustments, and staying updated on tax and employment law changes.
- Record and process all client account fund transfer requests, ensuring strict adherence to financial control procedures, timely execution, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Perform month-end control procedures on key balance sheet items, including reconciliation of Work in Progress and Outlay control accounts, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly and aligned with internal audit and compliance requirements.
- Assist in cash flow management and forecasting, helping to maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing funds to support financial decision-making.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring financial documentation is up-to-date, accessible, and compliant with relevant legal and regulatory standards.
- Assist with shared finance tasks, including document stamping, petty cash management, invoice processing, and ensuring financial records are maintained efficiently.
- Provide backup support for finance team members during absences or busy periods, ensuring continuity of financial operations and maintaining high service levels.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a finance or accounts assistant role.
- Strong knowledge of financial control processes and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in using financial systems, particularly Keyhouse or similar practice management systems.
- Experience managing end to end payroll processes.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
