Senior Manager - Audit and Accounts Department
My client is seeking a high-achieving, ambitious Senior Manager to join a dynamic and innovative Audit and Accounts team. Reporting to the audit/accounts director and working directly with partners, this role offers excellent career growth, challenging projects, and ongoing learning and development within a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, effectively managing client relationships and expectations. You will collaborate closely with senior leaders such as Directors, Financial Controllers, and Senior Executives, addressing client needs across areas like non-audit transactions, due diligence, management accounts, and providing advice on financial strategy and operational structure.
- Oversee a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors.
- Manage Accountancy Services for a group of clients, including but not limited to:
- Reviewing monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Reviewing Unaudited Year-End Statutory Accounts
- Advising clients on systems of financial control
- Providing Company Secretarial Advice and Compliance, including maintenance of company registers and minutes as required
- Lead the firm's accounting technology strategy, implementing new accounting solutions to enhance client services.
- Support team financial performance management by setting and billing fees, managing cash collections, and monitoring work-in-progress recoverability.
- Engage in coaching, mentoring, and performance reviews of team members.
This position requires a seasoned, self-driven professional with excellent technical and organizational skills, capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high professional standards.
Skills and Qualifications
- ACA or ACCA qualification with a minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in practice, with a solid technical foundation in financial/management accounts
- Demonstrated leadership and management abilities
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills
- Strong commercial acumen and client-focused approach
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Surf, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and a strong interest in new technology
- Experience with AI-based accounting software, accounting tools, and connected apps for in-house and client applications
- Client-oriented, proactive, with a problem-solving mindset
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills
