Morgan McKinley are seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Planning Lead to join an expanding supply chain team in Kerry.
The Production Planning Lead is responsible for overseeing and optimizing production schedules to ensure efficient workflow, timely delivery, and alignment with customer demands. The role involves coordinating with various departments, managing planning tools, and continuously improving processes in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to meet customer requirements and minimize downtime.
- Balance production capacities and materials availability to maximize efficiency and throughput.
- Analyze orders to plan production volumes and timelines.
- Collaborate with procurement, inventory control, and production teams to align schedules with supply chain activities.
- Act as the key point of contact for resolving scheduling conflicts and communicating changes.
- Liaise with the sales and customer service teams to provide updates on delivery schedules.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices to enhance productivity.
- Utilize analytics to forecast demand and optimize resource allocation.
- Manage and optimize the use of ERP/MRP systems to track production progress and update schedules in real-time.
- Generate reports to monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery and inventory turnover.
- Lead and mentor a team of planners or coordinators, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Key requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in production planning in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS CPIM, Lean Six Sigma) are a plus.
