A leading biopharmaceutical company is seeking an Automation Project Manager to lead automation initiatives within manufacturing. This role involves managing project scope, timelines, budgets, and ensuring compliance with GMP and regulatory standards.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Oversee automation projects from planning through execution, maintaining timelines and budgets.
- People Management: Lead and develop a team of engineers and technicians.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee quality.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary contact for stakeholders, ensuring all project requirements are met.
- Technical Expertise: Evaluate and select automation systems and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in automation and project management processes.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation) or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in automation within manufacturing, ideally within biopharma, pharmaceuticals, medical device or life sciences
- Project management skills (PMP preferred) and extensive experience with equipment automation.
- Strong background in vendor management, contract negotiation, and oversight of service quality.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively across departments.
- In-depth knowledge of automation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and other industrial control systems.
- Familiarity with GMP, FDA, and other regulatory standards in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
