Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement forward-thinking health and safety (H&S) programs that foster a strong culture of safety and employee well-being.
- Ensure compliance with the latest H&S regulations and evolving industry standards.
- Regularly review and enhance H&S policies, ensuring all team members are informed, engaged, and aligned with safety objectives.
- Conduct comprehensive safety audits and assessments to maintain exemplary H&S standards.
- Investigate workplace incidents, identifying root causes and implementing timely corrective actions.
- Partner with various departments to uphold H&S protocols during the introduction of new equipment, materials, or processes.
- Lead dynamic training sessions to empower employees to take ownership of workplace safety.
- Guide and motivate safety-focused teams, including Shift Safety Teams and the Emergency Response Team (ERT), to ensure operational readiness.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives in H&S, driving the organization toward achieving best-in-class safety standards.
- Manage emergency preparedness plans, ensuring the site is equipped to handle potential incidents effectively.
- Collaborate with health and wellness teams to support workforce well-being, ensuring a holistic approach to health and safety.
What We're Looking For:
- At least four years of H&S experience, ideally within a highly regulated or complex environment.
- A proven track record of delivering measurable improvements in safety standards and influencing positive behavioral change.
- Expertise in developing and implementing H&S management systems that effectively engage stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence a diverse workforce, from front-line employees to senior leaders.
- A strong ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, promoting a shared commitment to health and safety.
- Comprehensive knowledge of H&S regulations, with demonstrated experience managing site-wide H&S requirements.
Education & Qualifications:
- A degree in a relevant discipline such as Health & Safety, Engineering, or a closely related field.
