Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including leases, vendor agreements, IP licenses, and R&D partnerships.
- Serve as the primary legal advisor for internal stakeholders, guiding on legal risk and structuring to align with corporate and regulatory standards.
- Conduct legal research on evolving regulations including advertising law, labor law, and product safety.
- Enhance and streamline contract management workflows to support governance and efficiency.
- Implement and localize global compliance programs, policies, and training within the Japan organization.
- Collaborate with regional and global legal teams to ensure local compliance aligns with international standards.
- Lead periodic compliance assessments, track KPIs, and deliver actionable mitigation strategies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
Languages:
- Japanese: Fluent or native-level proficiency.
- English: Business-level proficiency (ability to manage bilingual documentation and cross-border communication).
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Law. Legal qualification is a plus but not mandatory.
