This is a high-impact Internal Audit VP opportunity at a leading European global financial group, focused on Global Markets.
You will work closely with cutting-edge financial products, risk management frameworks, and senior stakeholders across Japan and global teams-supporting business decision-making through insightful audit delivery, continuous monitoring, and control enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in continuous monitoring and annual risk assessments, and execute internal audits aligned with global audit standards.
- Lead full audit lifecycle activities with domestic and global stakeholders-from planning and fieldwork to reporting and follow-up.
- Evaluate, test, and recommend improvements for internal controls across business, finance, and IT processes.
- Promote audit innovation using data analytics, working alongside data scientists when needed.
- Support responses to regulatory inspections and report audit outcomes to senior management and leadership.
- Prepare clear, high-quality audit workpapers and reports, and track progress of remediation actions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Experience in the financial industry (banking or securities) and/or experience at a professional audit firm.
- 7-10+ years of internal audit experience, or strong relevant experience with clear motivation to transition into risk/control (e.g., actively studying toward CIA).
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to deep-dive into operational processes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate confidently with senior leadership.
- High attention to detail, ownership, and a proactive approach to identifying improvements.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Fluent
- English: Fluent
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of financial business operations and market-driven products.
- Ability to assess business processes deeply and propose practical improvements.
