Leading medical device company in Cork seeks an Process Automation Engineer for a 12-month contract. You'll drive process development for new medical devices, focusing on large-scale automated assembly and testing equipment. This role spans the entire project lifecycle, from concept to implementation. Ideal candidates have experience with automated processes in medical devices and knowledge of automated visual inspection or machine controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop robust, high-yield automated manufacturing processes.
- Optimize equipment for efficient and repeatable process transfer to manufacturing.
- Implement and qualify automated inspection systems through vendors.
- Collaborate with R&D on new device designs and their transfer to manufacturing.
- Manage vendor engagement for equipment design and implementation.
- Design and improve equipment to support new products and enhance inspection.
- Implement manufacturing and preliminary documentation.
- Conduct validations and qualifications.
- Drive continuous quality improvement.
- Liaise with other functions on current and future process development.
- Commission new manufacturing technology, ramp up production, perform validations, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Evaluate environmental impact of new equipment/processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Engineering or Science degree (Level 8).
- 5+ years' experience with automated equipment in a regulated industry.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong mentoring abilities.
- Desirable experience in: Automation, Automated Inspections, New Technology Development.
