Our client based in North Cork is seeking an available immediately accounts assistant to join their team for an urgent requirement. This person will work alongside the Financial Controller and Senior Accounts Assistant and support the team in the finance functions of the business. This is a temporary contract requirement of 12 weeks to begin with and could potentially extend to 24 weeks. This role would require you to be onsite for the initial 12 weeks at minimum
Responsibilities:
- Produce monthly and year-end financial summaries.
- Help create monthly forecasts and budgets for the business.
- Work alongside the management team to analyse and control spending.
- Assist with completing monthly, bi-monthly, and annual revenue returns.
- Support the preparation and reporting of weekly payroll.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable tasks as needed.
- Help with banking activities, including making lodgements, processing direct debits, and reconciling bank statements.
- Keep the fixed asset register up to date, post depreciation entries, and carry out monthly reconciliations.
- Handle all financial tasks related to inventory for the business.
- Suggest and implement improvements to the ERP system where necessary.
- Work with internal and external auditors.
- Help train and develop accounts/admin staff.
- Organise and keep standard operating procedures (SOPs) up to date within the finance department.
Requirements
- IATI Qualifcation or equivalent desired
- At least three years' experience in a busy finance department is essential.
- Experience with computerised payroll systems is a plus.
- Good communication and people skills.
