Morgan McKinley is delighted to support a Cork company who are seeking an EMEA VAT Lead to join the team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects and contribute to the overall success of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve VAT returns prepared by the team
- Prepare VAT returns for key entities
- Support and participate in multi-country indirect tax audits and tax authority requests
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on indirect tax matters
- Lead projects related to indirect tax, such as integrations, new entity setups, and automation initiatives
- Develop and maintain efficient internal processes
- Perform reconciliations between VAT filings, accounting records, and tax account statements
- Support the VAT refund process
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
- Perform ad-hoc tax tasks as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in indirect tax compliance, with a focus on European countries, particularly Switzerland, The Netherlands, and Spain
- Strong understanding of VAT regulations and best practices
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with ERP systems is preferred
