A leading international mid-tier law firm in Dublin city centre is now looking to for a talented Environmental and Planning Solicitor to join its growing dynamic team. Role Overview:
We are seeking an Environmental and Planning Solicitor with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE). This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to build a career within a top team, working on a wide range of environmental and planning matters. The ideal candidate will have experience advising clients on environmental regulations, planning law, and associated matters, and will be eager to take on responsibility and develop their expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising clients on a range of environmental and planning law matters, including sustainability, climate change regulations, and public sector planning.
- Managing and advising on contentious and non-contentious planning and environmental issues, including appeals, judicial reviews, and enforcement proceedings.
- Drafting and negotiating environmental and planning agreements, including environmental impact assessments (EIAs), habitat regulations assessments (HRAs), and planning conditions.
- Providing strategic advice on regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and sustainability practices for clients in sectors such as real estate, infrastructure, energy, and natural resources.
- Conducting legal research and keeping up-to-date with developments in environmental and planning law.
- Collaborating with colleagues in other practice areas, such as real estate, construction, and public law, to provide integrated legal solutions for clients.
- Building relationships with clients and acting as a trusted advisor on environmental and planning matters.
Key Requirements:
- 2-4 years of post-qualification experience in environmental and planning law, with a strong understanding of Irish and EU regulations.
- Experience advising clients on environmental compliance, planning procedures, and contentious planning disputes.
- Knowledge of the relevant legislation, including the Planning and Development Act, the Environmental Protection Agency Act, and EU environmental law.
- Strong analytical, communication, and drafting skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive and client-focused approach, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and a keen interest in staying up-to-date with emerging environmental and planning trends and legal developments.
- Experience in advising clients in regulated sectors (e.g., construction, energy, infrastructure) would be an advantage.
- Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
