A global insurance provider offering a range of specialty insurance and reinsurance solutions across various industries are looking to hire an accountant for their growing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review reconciliations to ensure their completion within deadlines, and follow up on any outstanding actions.
- Provide support and mentorship to junior team members, including reviewing their work.
- Contribute to system implementations, including impact assessments, process definition, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Identify and implement efficiencies and automation within finance operations, collaborating on process improvements across the finance function.
- Work closely with underwriters, operations, and project management teams to ensure new products and distribution channels are smoothly integrated into finance processes in a controlled and scalable way.
- Collaborate with the tax team and external service providers to ensure the accurate and timely submission of tax filings, including IPT.
- Work alongside the treasury team to optimize payment processing procedures, ensuring appropriate controls are in place for disbursements, as well as forecasting large receipts or disbursements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Qualified in CIMA, ACCA or ACA
- Experience in an insurance accounting role desirable
- Highly analytical and detailed, with the ability to communicate messages to various stakeholders.
- Team player with a capability of working on own initiative and willing to help other
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload on a continual basis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
