Interim Director of People reporting to the Chief People Officer

Purpose of the Role
The Director of People Enablement is responsible for planning and executing the strategy for the People Operations Team.
The primary focus of this role is to deliver high-quality, proactive, and flexible solutions for colleagues, people managers, and senior leaders across the Group.
The role holder will work closely with the Leadership Team to drive the next phase of the People Services digital transformation journey. This role will be specifically accountable for consolidating all People Services operational activities under one structure and leading key strategic programmes of work.
The successful candidate will be a commercially focused enterprise-wide leader with expertise in systems, strategy, change delivery, financial planning, and senior stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
People Operations:
* Lead the delivery of operational excellence in the People Operations and Payroll teams to deliver a best-in-class end-to-end colleague experience for all 'moments that matte'
* Drive continuous improvement and optimisation of all operational activities across People Services by optimising SuccessFactors technology, leveraging opportunities to automate processes, and enabling self-service for colleagues and people managers;
* Collaborate with HR Business Partners, HR Centres` of Expertise and Business Stakeholders to continuously update and review HR processes, policies and guidelines to ensure they reflect the Group`s requirements and our legal obligations;
Automation:
* Champion the digital transformation agenda for People Services ensuring the Group keeps up to date with the latest innovation and technology advancements in SuccessFactors technology;
* Oversee the delivery of all technology-related change initiatives and develop a clear change roadmap in line with the Group`s and People Services strategic ambitions;
Functional Management:
* Oversee and manage the People Services budget and FTE deliverables in line with agreed financial commitments, ensuring strategic changing funding and third party spend is challenged and prioritised in line with People Services priorities;
Leadership:
* Play a key role on the People Services Leadership Team, demonstrating commitment to strategic goals, role modelling our values, coaching and developing colleagues and championing the Connect brand;
* Provide leadership to develop, motivate and engage multi-disciplinary teams capable of delivering against transformational, operational and strategic objectives with agility and colleague focus;
* Lead out on ad-hoc strategic projects on behalf of Chief People Officer as required;
* Manage all People Services Risks effectively ensuring the Division complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Experienced senior leader with a minimum of 10 years` experience in a business, operations or HR role with 5+ of these in a Senior Leadership role;
* A demonstrable track record of the planning and execution of key strategic Programmes across multiple teams and jurisdictions;
* Accustomed to operating in a large, complex matrix organisations undergoing significant periods of business transformation;
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with proven ability to influence and build relationships both internally and externally at the highest levels, demonstrating emotional intelligence, resilience and independence as well as an ability to challenge the status quo;
* A demonstrable track record of translating customer and service requirements into organisational processes, leveraging internal systems and resources to glean efficient and transformative results;
* Experience in managing large budgets, prioritising spend where there is competing priorities, as well as overseeing contract and vendor management;
* Results and outcomes focussed with the ability to drive high performance whilst maximising available resources and maintaining high employee engagement through living and demonstrating our values;
* Strong knowledge and understanding of the regulatory and legal environment in which the Group operates especially for the associated functional areas of responsibility.
