Overview
- Role Focus: Lead data governance, manage a team, drive enterprise reporting, enhance data performance and accuracy, and lead innovative data-driven projects.
- Industry Context: Banking, financial services, or risk management experience is critical.
- Key Skills: Leadership, technical expertise in data tools and governance, and experience with banking risk data.
Core Responsibilities
Data Governance & Strategy:
- Establish and enforce robust data governance frameworks and standards.
- Optimize and integrate data architectures and pipelines.
- Drive adoption of advanced technologies (e.g., AI, machine learning, cloud).
- Increase organizational data literacy and awareness.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data analysts.
- Foster collaboration and ensure alignment with business priorities.
- Oversee vendor relationships and team performance.
Enterprise Reporting Optimization:
- Streamline reporting processes to improve performance and reliability.
- Develop dashboards and self-service tools for actionable insights.
- Drive predictive analytics to anticipate trends and risks.
Regulatory & Group Data Management:
- Ensure regulatory reporting data meets accuracy and compliance standards.
- Support risk and finance teams in timely data delivery for decision-making.
Project Delivery:
- Oversee the successful delivery of data-driven projects.
- Ensure compliance with governance policies and data integrity standards.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Report on governance and project progress.
- Communicate technical data concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
Key Requirements
Experience:
- 7+ years in data management, 5+ years in senior roles.
- Banking risk data expertise (credit, market, liquidity risks, etc.).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in data tools (ETL, SQL, BI tools) and frameworks (DAMA DMBOK, RDARR/BCBS 239).
- Strong problem-solving and project management abilities.
Soft Skills:
- Leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
Preferred:
- Advanced degrees or certifications in data management.
- Familiarity with financial regulations.
Must be eligible to travel within the EU and UK without a visa.
