We are partnering with a leading Kilkenny based organisation seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Finance Lead to oversee the financial operations of their local business unit. This is a broad and high-impact role with responsibility for financial control, margin management, forecasting, statutory reporting, and partnering closely with operations and sales teams to drive performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a local finance team of 3, each responsible for AP, AR, and Banking.
- Oversee improvements in AP processes, with particular focus on efficiency and centralisation.
- Collaborate with local heads of operations to prepare weekly gross margin reports, ensuring cut-offs and costing are accurate.
- Deliver actionable insights on pricing and margin to the local MD, sales teams, and operations.
- Own accountability across the business for margin improvement actions and report progress weekly to the CFO, CEO, and Group Sales Director.
- Manage the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Oversee statutory reporting obligations, with a view to transitioning this to the Assistant Financial Controller / Company Accountant over time.
- Oversee relationships with outsourced payroll, IT, and HR providers.
- Ensure services are delivered efficiently and in line with contractual obligations.
- Lead and support financial projects, audit preparations, and resolve ad hoc finance queries.
- Support and coordinate the annual budgeting process.
- Own and develop the financial model for the business.
- Prepare and update monthly rolling forecasts with value-adding insights.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a similar financial leadership role, ideally in a dynamic, multi-functional environment
- Strong understanding of gross margin mechanics and commercial finance
- Demonstrated ability to manage month-end processes and statutory compliance
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with or transitioning to shared services and finance tech solutions is highly desirable
- High attention to detail with a proactive and hands-on approach
