Our client, one of the leading industrial refinery plants in Europe, is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Buyer to join their team at the Limerick facility. This role is pivotal in managing procurement activities to support the plant's operations and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the procurement process for materials, equipment, and services essential for various projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts to achieve optimal value and quality.
- Monitor market trends and perform cost analyses to identify savings opportunities.
- Procure goods and services in alignment with internal customer requirements and ensure adherence to safety, engineering, energy, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast and plan procurement needs effectively.
- Maintain detailed records of purchases, supplier performance, and contracts for transparency and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and commercial procedures.
- Uphold the highest standards of ethics in all supplier and customer interactions.
Requirements:
- Degree in Purchasing, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related professional qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a procurement role within a busy, engineering-focused environment.
- Proven expertise in sourcing high-value engineering goods and services.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in procurement software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
