A well-established and rapidly growing organisation in the engineering and technical services sector is seeking a Management Accountant to join its finance team in Limerick. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and driving efficiencies across multiple business units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Perform month-end processes, including calculation, posting, and analysis of accruals and prepayments.
- Support budget holders with financial analysis, cost management, and variance analysis.
- Assist in developing key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance financial oversight.
- Improve and maintain robust customer billing and invoicing processes.
- Work on process improvements to streamline time and attendance systems, linking financial customer accounts and operational expenses.
- Manage VAT return preparation and submission.
- Provide payroll-related financial support, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements within the finance function and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the Financial Controller and wider finance team on various finance-related projects and ad hoc tasks.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a similar role within a multi-entity, operationally complex business.
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of payroll processes and calculations.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving, with strong business acumen.
