My client, an established and growing organisation with multiple sites across the Southeast, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead and manage all financial operations. This includes corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and the development of internal control policies and procedures. The Financial Controller will also play a critical role in managing financial risks. Reporting directly to the Group CFO, the ideal candidate will provide strategic financial insights to drive executive decision-making and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting operations across multiple sites, including Billing, Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), General Ledger (GL), Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Lead the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Prepare and deliver timely, accurate monthly financial statements.
- Address technical accounting issues and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting to maintain accuracy and transparency.
- Provide executive leadership with comprehensive financial data and analysis to guide strategic planning and policy development.
- Monitor budget trends, identify variances, and present findings to senior leadership.
- Develop, implement, and enhance internal control systems and accounting policies.
- Collaborate with external auditors by providing necessary documentation and support.
- Manage tax preparation duties or coordinate with external tax advisors as needed.
- Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as required to meet organizational goals.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar leadership role.
- Minimum of 5 years' combined experience in accounting and finance.
- ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Expertise in preparing financial statements and managing the month-end/year-end close process.
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
