Join a leading global medical device company as a Standalone HR Manager in Tokyo. This role offers the opportunity to shape and lead the full HR agenda in Japan, working closely with global teams. You'll take ownership of all core HR functions, from compensation to compliance, within a high-impact, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end HR programs, processes, and systems across Japan.
- Oversee payroll coordination with vendors and global HR teams.
- Administer compensation, benefits, and incentive programs.
- Drive full-cycle recruitment including onboarding.
- Provide data-driven support for compensation benchmarking and salary reviews.
- Contribute to key HR initiatives like performance reviews, budgeting, and engagement surveys.
- Ensure HRIS accuracy and compliance with local labor regulations.
- Advise leadership on HR policy and employee relations.
- Participate in global and local HR projects such as policy development and rewards program reviews.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 5+ years in HR within Japan, preferably in a multinational environment.
- Strong background in Compensation & Benefits and generalist HR.
- Solid understanding of Japanese labor law and HR compliance.
- Pharma or healthcare industry experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel and HR systems (SuccessFactors preferred).

- Excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills.
- Collaborative, culturally sensitive, and self-directed.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Native level
- English: Business level (TOEIC 800+ or equivalent)

- Experience supporting cross-functional and back-office teams.
- Exposure to HR projects with regional or global scope.
