Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Japanese labor laws and tax regulations.
- Calculate salaries, bonuses, deductions, and statutory contributions, including social insurance and income tax.
- Prepare and submit payroll-related tax filings and reports to relevant authorities.
- Respond to payroll inquiries from clients and employees, providing guidance on payroll policies and tax matters.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Japanese payroll laws and ensure payroll processes comply with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including HR, finance, and tax advisory, to support payroll operations.
- Assist in payroll audits and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years of payroll experience in Japan.
- Preferably experienced in professional services or payroll outsourcing environments.
Technical & Soft Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Japanese labor laws, payroll tax regulations, and social insurance procedures.
- Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems; familiarity with cloud-based payroll solutions is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Fluent (required for compliance and payroll processing).
- English: Conversational to Business level (for internal coordination and reporting).
