The Client:
The organization is a prominent global player in the maritime and logistics industry, specializing in container shipping services. With a robust network spanning multiple continents, it offers a wide range of shipping solutions to facilitate international trade. They are currently looking to hire an experienced Assistant Manager in Trade analytics & Market Research to be based in their HQ here in Singapore.
Job Scope:
The individual will be involved in performing study of trade volumes, shipping patterns and the market. This will be crucial in ensuring cost efficiency and profitability for the business.
Responsibilities:
· Conduct and develop study of trade volumes, market circumstances and shipping patterns for the specific trade lane assigned.
· Increase cost effectiveness and profitability through assessment of shipping routes, capacity and pricing.
· Develop trade forecasts through analysing the market.
· Work closely with stakeholders on trade and growth plans to ensure operational efficiencies.
· Encourage the development of new trade channels and evaluate prospective expansion prospects.
· Monitor shipping operations performance indicators and provide recommendations for enhancements.
The Ideal Candidate:
· Bachelors Degree in Maritime, Business or any related discipline is a plus.
· More than 3 years of experience in the shipping industry with strong background in data analytics and market research on trade lanes is advantageous.
· Proficiency in Power BI, Dashboarding and other reporting tools is a plus.
· Individuals with great communication and stakeholder management skill is a plus.
