Our client is recruiting for a qualified payroll accountant, to join their organisation based in Cork. This role offers a hybrid working structure and is a 12 month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process end-to-end payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Maintain and reconcile payroll-related accounts, including journal entries and general ledger postings.
* Ensure compliance with local tax laws, labor regulations, and company policies.
* Prepare payroll reports and financial statements related to payroll expenses.
* Handle payroll queries from employees and provide necessary support.
* Collaborate with HR on employee benefits, deductions, and compensation changes.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIPP)
* Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll processing and accounting.
* Strong knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
* Proficiency in payroll software and SAP and Microsoft Excel.
