Senior IT Systems Engineer - Permanent role based in Cork
The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with clients to understand their IT requirements in manufacturing networks. You will help design, implement, and maintain IT systems and solutions to meet their requirements. You will also assist with system assessments, troubleshoot and resolve IT related issues.
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and operations, to ensure integration of IT/OT systems with existing systems. You will conduct system testing, validation, and documentation to ensure system reliability and performance. Additionally, you will provide technical expertise and guidance to clients and internal teams on operational technology best practices and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their operational technology requirements and project objectives
- Design, implement, and maintain IT/OT systems and solutions to meet project requirements
- Conduct system assessments, troubleshoot, and resolve operational technology issues
- Work with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and operations, to ensure integration of IT systems with existing systems
- Conduct system testing, validation, and documentation to ensure system reliability and performance
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients and internal teams on operational technology best practices and industry standards
- Stay updated with the latest trends, advancements, and regulations in the operational technology field
Required Skills:
- Degree / Diploma in a computer-related discipline with networking preferred
- CCNP, CCDP, CCNA, VCP Certifications highly regarded
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a network support role
- Strong knowledge of Cisco Networking & Firewalls (Palo Alto and Cisco)
- Experience with configuration & troubleshooting of LAN, WAN, Wireless LAN, and VPN
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP technologies
- Experience with Windows Server platforms & Active Directory
- Good working knowledge of VMWare vSphere & vMotion
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
- Must own a car (Car allowance provided)
