Our client, a leading government body is looking for an experienced Auditor to join their team on an initial 12-month contract.
The succesful candidate will conduct audits and verification checks on funded programs, ensuring funds are used appropriately and in compliance with regulations. The role involves on-site and remote assessments, report writing, and providing feedback to funded organizations to enhance governance and financial management. Regular travel across Ireland is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct audit & verification checks on funded organizations.
- Assess financial records, internal controls, and expenditure compliance.
- Ensure adherence to accounting regulations & programme rules.
- Prepare detailed reports on findings, recommendations, and risk issues.
- Monitor budgets, financial statements, and governance practices.
- Provide guidance & training on financial management and governance.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) and audit experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial reviews, forensic accounting, and compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Office & accounting software.
- Excellent report writing & analytical skills.
- Ability to work autonomously & meet deadlines.
- Full driving license with car availability for business travel.
Desirable:
- Experience in the public/voluntary sector
- Knowledge of EU & government accounting regulations.
