Job Summary:
The EHS Officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, national, and industry-specific regulations. This role is essential in promoting a culture of safety within the organization by conducting risk assessments, training employees, and ensuring that workplace practices adhere to legal and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
Conduct risk assessments and site inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives.
Deliver EHS training sessions and toolbox talks to employees at all levels.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and provide reports with recommendations for improvement.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, risk assessments, and EHS training.
Coordinate emergency response procedures, including fire safety and first aid preparedness.
Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure timely reporting of any compliance-related matters.
Promote a culture of safety through engagement, awareness programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitor and analyze key safety performance indicators and provide regular reports to management.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) are highly desirable.
