An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join a dynamic and growing distribution business. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role is based in North Dublin and offers a varied and engaging position with exposure to the full end-to-end accounting function. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position is suited to an experienced finance professional who can work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory, and revenue recognition.
- Manage financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, ensuring accurate reporting.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and annual reports to track trends and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and maintain strong internal controls.
- Support process improvements to enhance efficiency in accounting operations.
- Manage cash flow, credit control, and debt collection, producing ageing reports and taking action on outstanding balances.
- Supervise and support the finance team, ensuring effective collaboration.
- Coordinate and liaise with auditors and external stakeholders.
- Assist the Head of Finance in preparing reports for senior leadership and board meetings.
Key Requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within a fast-paced business environment.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong IT and systems experience, with proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with ERP systems such as Access Dimensions is an advantage.
