We are currently looking for a Resident Engineer to join a leading global engineering consultancy for a site-based position in the Galway region. The successful candidate will have a solid background in civil engineering, with a particular focus on roads and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site supervision and management of bridge maintenance and rehabilitation projects
- Conducting site inspections and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
- Assisting with contract administration, specifically under Public Works contracts
- Monitoring and reporting on the progress of construction works related to roadworks, drainage, signage, bridgeworks, and other infrastructure
- Supporting the Resident Engineering team with day-to-day activities on-site
- Maintaining accurate records and providing regular reports
Qualifications & Experience:
- A Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, particularly in the construction, repair, or design of infrastructure projects
- Prior experience with structure inspections would be advantageous
- Experience with Public Works contracts is a plus
- Strong knowledge of current health and safety regulations and best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
