A highly regarded APAC-based asset management firm is seeking an experienced HRBP Manager to lead its HR strategy and operations in Japan. This is a pivotal leadership role where you'll partner directly with senior stakeholders, align HR with business objectives, and shape company culture. You'll manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle and play a key role in building a high-performance and engaged workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders as a strategic HR Business Partner to align people strategies with business goals
- Oversee and manage day-to-day HR operations, ensuring full compliance with Japanese labor laws and internal policies
- Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team to foster professional growth and operational excellence
- Drive talent acquisition, succession planning, and retention initiatives
- Lead performance management processes and coach managers on employee development
- Promote employee engagement and a positive, inclusive workplace culture
- Handle employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures effectively
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 10+ years of HR experience, including HR Business Partnering and HR operations
- Demonstrated success in managing and developing HR teams
- In-depth knowledge of Japanese labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices
- Track record of working in dynamic, fast-paced, international environments
Soft Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to manage change and influence across all levels of the organization
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Fluent
- English: Fluent (business-level proficiency required)
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Global or APAC regional HR experience within financial services is a plus
