Job Overview:
My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join their team on a major Power Generation Project in Dublin. As a Senior QA Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and compliance of electrical systems and components throughout the project's lifecycle, from design to commissioning. Your expertise will drive the implementation of quality standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure that electrical systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical quality assurance activities for the power generation project, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations (IEC, ISO, etc.).
- Review and evaluate design documents, technical specifications, and drawings for electrical systems and equipment to ensure alignment with quality requirements.
- Develop and implement electrical quality control procedures, inspection plans, and checklists for construction, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Perform audits and inspections of electrical installations, materials, and equipment to verify compliance with specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the engineering and construction teams to proactively identify and resolve quality issues, ensuring the timely completion of the project.
- Provide guidance and support to junior QA engineers and the project team to ensure consistent quality assurance practices are followed.
- Ensure that electrical systems and components are properly tested, commissioned, and handed over in line with project specifications.
- Review non-conformance reports (NCRs) and facilitate the resolution of any electrical quality-related issues that may arise during the construction or commissioning phases.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to quality assurance activities, including test records, inspection reports, and quality audits.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in electrical quality assurance or quality control within the power generation or electrical engineering industry.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, power generation equipment, and associated standards and regulations.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies, auditing techniques, and industry best practices.
- Proven experience in performing inspections, audits, and tests on electrical systems and equipment.
- Proficiency in using QA software and tools for managing documentation and quality processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to proactively identify and address quality issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
