A leading Global Engagement Fund is seeking a Senior Associate to VP to drive investment into small to mid-cap Japanese listed companies. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support investment strategies focused on small to mid-cap Japanese listed companies.
- Conduct financial modeling, valuation analysis, and due diligence to assess potential investment opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including investment committees, senior executives, and external advisors.
- Structure and execute M&A transactions, ensuring alignment with the fund's investment strategy.
- Monitor portfolio companies, identifying opportunities for operational and financial improvements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of M&A experience in an Investment Bank or Private Equity Fund based in Japan.
Technical Skills:
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and deal execution expertise.
- Deep understanding of Japan's capital markets and corporate finance landscape.
Soft Skills:
- Ability to assess risks and opportunities while making data-driven investment recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Native level (written and spoken).
- English: Business-level proficiency (required for internal and external communication).
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in corporate strategy, restructuring, or post-investment value creation.
